Case Study #1

A local bar wanted to increase business on Wednesday nights.  They launched a marketing campaign requesting customers to text “MDPUB” to 41513 to compile a database.  They advertised the code in print, on-line and in-house.  After 3 weeks, they had about 260 customers in their database and began sending out messages for $1 drafts from 8pm-midnight.  After 2 weeks, their Wednesday sales increased by 23%.  They continued the promotion to collect more customers and after 6 weeks and over 500 customers in their database, their Wednesday sales had increased 68%, they ended up hiring a DJ and their Wednesday sales surpassed their Friday sales without any sales lost on any other night of the week.

Case Study #2

A favorite coffee shop had a booming business Monday-Friday with customers coming in for their morning coffee and pastries, as well as a strong lunch crowd.  They were looking for a way to boost their Saturday morning sales, as they were very low due to the loss of their morning “work crowd.”  They created a campaign offering $1 off a large gourmet coffee by asking customers to text “CAFENOW” to 41513.  They advertised the offer in their newspaper ad, a coupon magazine, on their website and in their shop.  After 5 weeks, they had 300 customers in their database and sent out an offer to receive a free small gourmet coffee with the purchase of a pastry on Saturday morning only.  The first week, they had a 16% response rate and the second week they had an incredible 26% response rate.  They continued different offers for Saturdays and ended up increasing their Saturday sales by and average of 60%.

Case Study #3

A small grocery store chain spent thousands of dollars each month in newspaper advertising and was looking for a way to reduce that expense without losing sales.  They launched a campaign asking customers to text “SAVE123” to 41513 to receive exclusive weekly grocery specials.  They promoted the campaign in their print ad as well as in all 4 of their locations.  Within 4 weeks, they had almost 1000 customers in their database.  They sent out a text message offer for $.49 2-liter bottled Coke products, but did not advertise that promotion in their weekly print ad.  With the first message, they received a 9% response rate.  They continued to send out exclusive special values only to the customers in their text database, which grew to over 2500 after 10 weeks.  Their response rate for those special offers increased to 21% in that 10 week period.  Within 6 months, they had reduced their newspaper advertising budget by 40% and even with the cost of the Text Message Marketing, were saving a total of $5800 per month in advertising costs.

These are just a few examples on the benefits and success of Text Message Marketing.  Campaign results will vary based on several factors and the capacity of cross-promotion advertising that you do.  Our goal is to work with you to get the most out of your campaign.
